Kenneth B. Blakeney
1935-2020
Graduating from this life, Kenneth Blakeney passed away
peacefully Sunday 11 October 2020 at 85 years of age surrounded by his
loving family at Andrews Nursing Home of Summerside, PEI. To the staff
of Andrews nursing home, we give much thanks and gratitude for the
dignity and respect for which our Dad received.
Ken met and married his childhood sweetheart, Margaret Louise
(Crozier). They were blessed to have 8 children with names all
beginning and ending with “B”. The growing up years,
Kenneth’s family was often referred as the “B”
hive. The symbolism of beehive: implying industry, bounty, and wisdom,
reflects the “activity” of this “hive”. Our Dad
had a strong work ethic instilled to each of his children, most
directly, at early ages, the helping hands of Brian, Blaine, and Barry
as they worked at his side for many years within the Bakery/ Potato
chip employment. The girls held more typical roles of supporting our
mother in the home. An efficient beehive indeed!
Our father is survived by his children, Beverley (Kevin)
Waugh, Wilmot Valley, PEI, Blaine Blakeney, Souris, PEI, Barbara
Lewis, Halifax, N.S., Brenda Smith, Calgary, AB, Barry (Jewel)
Blakeney, Eastern Passage, N.S., Bonita MacKenzie,
Summerside,PEI.
Grandfather to Sara (Mark) Peters, Jennifer Waugh, Emily (
Eddie) Waugh, Thomas (Kelly) Waugh, Jason Blakeney, Kenny (Carly)
Blakeney, Natalie Blakeney, Dylan Lewis, Dustin (Roselle) Smith,
Rebecca (Theodore) Smith, Aimee Smith, Jeremy (Kim) Blakeney, Josh
Blakeney, Vanessa (Dey) Rivera, Amanda Blakeney, Govan Bianchini, and
Great Grandfather to 20 plus….
Predeceased by his parents Harris and Cecilia (Glover)
Blakeney, infant sister, his beloved wife Margaret Louise (Crozier),
son, Brian Harris Blakeney, daughter, Belinda Cecilia Bianchini,
granddaughter, Mary Ellen Ethel Waugh, and great granddaughter, Sophie
Rae Lynn Waugh.
We honor each name listed as each represents a real person,
someone who had added depth and dimension to our family and most
importantly to our Father.
Ken Blakeney was known by many in his community. Always a
friendly smile, attention to detail was his signature. As a long time
member of The Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, this
community was blessed by much service, offering many levels of support
and caring. This reflection of his goodness and deep spiritual beliefs
are a legacy for each of us as his children.
Each of us are blessed to have our relationship and ways we
connected, celebrating the truth we hold that “Families can be
Together Forever “.
