It is with profound grief and sadness that the family announce the peaceful passing of Nathen Reginald Kennedy on Saturday, May 2, 2020 at home in Albert Bridge with his loving family at his side.
Born in Humber Mouth, Newfoundland, Nathan was the son of the late Clarence and Rachel (Yetman) Kennedy of Harbour Grace Newfoundland.
Nathen worked for 43 years at National Sea Products in Louisbourg and then for nine years as manager of Louisbourg Seafoods.
Nathen was a kind and gentle man with a love of family and fishing. He had a way of making everyone feel special.
Nathen is survived by his loving partner of 31 years, Sharon Magee and her family; his children, Cathy (the late Fran) Mailman, Main-A-Dieu, Jim (Lori), Albert Bridge, with whom he resided for the past 5 years, Ronnie (Debbie), Catalone, Allen (Darlene), Louisbourg, Derrick (Lisa), Little Lorraine; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; his loving sister, Isabel Kennedy; the mother of his children, Laura; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Nathan was predeceased by his brothers, Bramwell, Clarence, Tom, Max, Raymond, Andrew, Rendall and a sister, Janie.
Special thanks to the ladies from County Homemakers and all his care givers. A very heartfelt thanks to Dr. Arlene Kelly Wiggins for her wonderful care of Dad.
Cremation has taken place. Given the circumstances, a funeral will follow at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Nathan can be made to a charity of one’s choice.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Pier Community Funeral Home.
