Kelsey C.’s Obituary
Kelsey Chad Montgomery of St. Albert (AB), formerly of Peace River (AB), passed away after a short illness in the Peace River hospital at the age of 40 years.
Kelsey is survived by his daughter, Kalista Montgomery; his parents, Brian and Cheryl Montgomery; his siblings, Colby Montgomery (Logan and Hunter), Krista Montgomery (Aneeka, Kelton and Keaton); many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Kelsey was very active in sports; playing hockey, curling and baseball, skiing, snowboarding and skateboarding. He also spent much of his childhood time riding his bike, skipping rocks down at the river, climbing Misery Mountain, building forts and camping. He also spent a lot of time hanging out with his friends.
Kelsey graduated from Peace River High School in 1998. He worked in various jobs and finally decided to pursue a career as an electrician and enrolled as an Electrical Apprentice. He spent time in Calgary before relocating to Edmonton, as he worked much of the time in Fort McMurray.
Kelsey loved his pets, especially Crooks, his dog. He loved animals. He loved kids, after all he was a big kid himself! Kelsey never liked to be alone, and he spent many hours on the phone to call his friends and family, especially his Dad.
Kelsey is best described as outgoing, loving and honest, almost to a fault. Kelsey will be remembered for his big smile, his sense of humor and his kind heart. Kelsey will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
