It is with heavy hearts that the family of Keivin Wallace announce his sudden but peaceful passing on Saturday, April 4, 2020 at the age of 85 years.
He is survived by his loving family, two sons, Brian (Samantha) Wallace and Neil Wallace (Lori Ink); daughter-in-law, Bernice Wallace; two grandchildren, Heather and Andrew Wallace; great grandson, Bradie Vanier; sister, Gail Bryant; as well as numerous extended family and many dear friends.
Keivin was predeceased by his wife, Evelyn; sister, Margaret (Sergio) Mussio; and brother-in-law, George Bryant.
Keivin will always be remembered for his dedication to the Scouts of Canada and Optimist International, having received numerous awards, including the Sovereign’s Medal for Volunteers – Governor General’s Caring Canadian Award, the Silver Acorn, District Commissioner for Shaganappi District, Calgary, and his 45 Year Pin from Scouts Canada and an award for serving as past Governor for the AB, MT, SK, WY District of Optimist International, for his involvement. Beginning as a messenger, Keivin spent 40 years as a dedicated employee for CNCP Telecommunications, working his way to becoming an equipment technologist.
The family wishes to thank the staff at the Misericordia Hospital unit 8East, Emergency personnel, Dr. Brad Rowe and Dr. Fraser Armstrong and their staff for the exceptional care Keivin received.
Family and friends may pay their respects on Tuesday, April 7, 2020 and Wednesday, April 8, 2020 from 2:00-4:00pm and 6:00-8:00pm at Connelly-McKinley Funeral Home, 10011 114 Street, Edmonton. Due to the COVID-19 protocols, only 15 guests will be allowed to pay their respects at a time.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2020 at Connelly-McKinley Funeral Home. We would like to invite all our family and friends, but due to the latest Covid-19 protocols (15 maximum at a funeral), this is unfortunately limited to only immediate family members.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Optimist International, Edmonton Dinner Optimist Club or Scouts Canada, Edmonton Foundation.
