Keith’s Obituary
Charles (Keith) Francis Acott passed away peacefully on Friday, December 4, 2020 in Moose Jaw, SK, at the age of 82. He was born on September 4, 1938 in Coronach, SK, and was raised in Constance, SK. He attended Coleman School in Constance, and Rockglen High School. Keith joined the R.C.A.F. in January 1956 and completed training at St. Jean, QC, Clinton, ON, and Camp Borden, ON where he became an Aero Engineer Technician. Throughout his career he was stationed at R.C.A.F. Stn Saskatoon, SK (406 Squad), R.C.A.F. Stn Cold Lake, AB, R.C.A.F. Stn Comox, BC, with his final posting at CFB Moose Jaw, SK where he retired at the rank of Sgt in June 1981. After leaving the military, Keith operated the first Macs store in Moose Jaw in the South Hill Mall. In 1982-1983 he returned to CFB Moose Jaw and was employed by the P.S.C. until his retirement in June 1996. Keith joined the Royal Canadian Legion in 1964 in Comox, BC, later transferring to Legion #59 in Moose Jaw where he served on the executive for many years. Keith was also a long-time member of the Elks Club in Moose Jaw. He enjoyed curling, golfing, and socializing with his friends at the Legion and Elks Club. Keith was predeceased by his parents Charlie and Winnie. He is survived by his wife Laurie, his son Richard (Pasty), grandson Jesse, and granddaughters Janelle and Breanna. A Private Family Graveside Service will take place at Sunset Cemetery at a later date. In living memory of Keith, a memorial planting will be made by Jones-Parkview Funeral Services.
