Springhill. She married Stanley Close of Salisbury in 1946 and moved
from Moncton to Springhill in 1961. She was a homemaker and a church
and community volunteer in both Moncton and Springhill. Kay was a

Kay was an excellent cook making

loved curling and she and Stan were members of the Springhill Curling
Club for many years. She was also an avid bridge player throughout her
life which helped to keep her mind sharp in later years. Kay spent
many summers at the cottage in Pugwash getting to know friends and
watching the beautiful sunsets across the water. She also enjoyed
years of travel across Canada, the US, Bermuda, England, Europe and
Australia.
Kay moved back to Moncton in
2002 and continued an active role in church and community until
declining health restricted her activities. She was a resident of
Camden Park Terrace for 9 years before moving to Spencer’s
Nursing Home in January, 2020.
Kay was very proud of her family
and had a special interest in hearing from her grandchildren and great
grandchildren from around the world and keeping contact by sending
cards on special occasions. Kay lived a long and full life and was
ready to meet her Lord. She will be missed by
all.
The family wishes to express
sincere thanks to many care givers including a special care provider
on Es Street, nursing and support staff at Camden Park Terrace and
Spencer’s Nursing Home, and family physicians Dr. Forbes and
Dr. Hudson who have provided comfort during the past several
