It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Kathleen Mary Gale (nee O’Quinn) announces her passing at the Corner Brook Long Term Care Centre on Sunday, June 28, 2020 at the age of 83 years. Born in South Branch, NL, Kathleen was the daughter of the late George and Agnes O’Quinn (nee Gale). She was also predeceased by her husband Matthew Gale; son Philip Gale; brothers Francis O’Quinn, Wallace O’Quinn; grandson Cody Gale; father and mother-in-law Isadore and Annie Gale (nee McInnis); brothers-in-law Mike Sweeny, Wilfred Reid and Roy MacIsaac.
She leaves to mourn with a lifetime of fond and loving memories her beloved daughters Angela (Ray) Gale of South Branch, Ann (Terry) Crack of Sault Ste. Marie, ON, Rose (Gary) O’Shaughnessy of Fredericton, NB, Camilla (Kelly) Dahl of Kamloops, BC, Bride Winchester of Cold Brook, NS, Ursula (Gilbert) Anderson of Cold Lake, AB, Phyllis (Scott) Dell of Sioux Lookout, ON, Tracy (Jim) Collier of Antigonish, NS; sons Lawrence (Susan) Gale of Sioux Lookout, ON, Vincent (Kathy) Gale of Sydney, NS, Sandy Gale, Wade (Marielle) Gale both of Millville, NL, Christian Gale of Ottawa, ON; grandchildren Lloyd, Priscilla, Brady, Tanner, Kimberly, Adam, Hayden, Brittany, Brandon, Amy, Jermey, Robyn, Tya, Matthew, Logan, Devon, Tyler, Cole, Philip, Sarah, Samantha; great-grandbabies Ryder, Reilly, Coby, Mason, Avery, Elodie, Shakya, Nevaeh, Desmond, Logan, Calvin, Braydon, Oliver.
Kathleen also leaves behind her brothers Vincent (Dale) O’Quinn, Ronald (Magdeline) O’Quinn, Alex (Rose) O’Quinn, Brian O’Quinn, Greg (Helena) O’Quinn, Terry (Cathy) O’Quinn; sisters Lucy (Allan) MacIsaac, Dolores (Terry) Gale, Marion Sweeny, Anita Reid, Theresa (Robert) Ereaut; sisters-in-law Jeanette O’Quinn and Evelyn O’Quinn.
The family would like to send out a special thank you to Dr. Thomas and the healthcare workers at the Long Term Care Centre in Port aux Basques and at the Corner Brook Long Term Care Centre.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, July 2nd from 2-4 and 7-9 pm and on Friday, July 3rd from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at East Haven Funeral Home. The Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, July 4th, 11 am officiated by Father Lee Lainey at St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church in Upper Ferry. Interment to follow at Mount St. Thomas Cemetery, Great Codroy. Flowers are graciously accepted or donations in Kathleen’s memory can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Newfoundland & Labrador, 107 – 835 Topsail Road, Mount Pearl, NL, A1N 3J6.
