Kathleen Kay Charlotte Duffy 19212020

Kathleen “Kay” Charlotte Duffy
1921-2020
Kathleen “Kay” Charlotte Duffy, 99, of Hopewell
Hill went to be with her Lord and Saviour. She passed away peacefully
on Thursday, October 8th, 2020 at the Moncton
Hospital.
Kay was born on April 5,1921 on Gowland Mountain, Elgin,
NB, the daughter of the late Percy and Maude (Steeves)
Crandall.
She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed cooking and
baking. She was known for her donuts and for her delicious
fudge at Halloween. Kay was a devoted housewife, mother and
grandmother. She was a pillar of the community and an active
member of the Hopewell Hill Baptist Church now known as Hopewell
Community Church. A lifetime member of the Women’s Missionary Society,
she taught Sunday School for many years, served as choir director and
served on many committees at the church. Whenever there was
a luncheon, Kay was there cooking and helping in the kitchen and
bringing her baked goods. She was a member of the Lioness
Club since 1967, The Senior Citizens Club, and
volunteered with the Forest Dale Home Auxiliary. Kay was a
lady of great faith, strength and integrity. She was an
inspiration and led many people to the Lord through her example. She
was like a mum and grandmother to many, fondly known
as Nannie Kay. She had a smile that would light up a room and
her kind and caring ways will never be forgotten. Her legacy of love
will live on in all who knew her. She is now hearing the words
“Well done my good and faithful servant” and walking with
her Saviour on the street of gold.
She will be deeply missed by her daughter, Linda
Butland (Claude) of Alma; her treasured grandchildren, Tony (Annick),
Glen (Bryna) and Ryan (Melissa); her precious great grandchildren,
Megan, Tyler, Danika, Kaylin, Brooklyn, Mackenzie, Angus and Madison;
sister, Addie Gaudet of River Glade; brothers, Gordon Crandall
(Florence) of Mapleton, Richard Crandall (Joan) of Riverview and LeRoy
Crandall (Joy) of Ontario; sister-in-law, Alice Crandall of
Riverside-Albert. She will also be missed by several nieces,
nephews and by all of her community.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her first
husband, Cecil Jones and second husband, Vincent Duffy;
daughter, Marilyn; sisters, Dorothy Crandall, Laura Gregg (Ralph);
brothers, Harold (Evelyn), Henry; brother-in-law, Ed
Gaudet.
