Obituary of Kareem Jamal Wade
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction”
2 Corinthians 1:3
It is with great pain and sadness that we announce the sudden andunexpected passing of Kareem (B.K) Wade age 34 on Saturday May 16, 2020.
Born April 5 1986, Kareem was the loving son of Valerie Powell and Cedric Wade. He is survived by his parents, paternal grandmother and 7 older siblings. Brother to Nicole, Natalie, Bernard, Troy, Michel, Monique, Lionel and Cheri. Grandson of Hyacinth Phillips. Uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Kareem, also known as B.K or Beekz was a caring and loyal person who loved playing football. With his tenacity, passion and dedication to football, he played on many teams from childhood to adulthood. Kareem was a hard worker who maintained a career working as a Drywall Apprentice, Event and Personal Security Guard throughout Ontario. Most recently, Kareem took on the role as a frontline Security Guard at the William Osler Health System (Brampton Civic Hospital) where he contributed to making a difference to their patients and visitors by his soft and kind approach to the screening process through the current state of Covid-19.
Kareem was a reflective person as discovered by the records in his grade 8 journal. In one of his journal entries, B.K wrote “it is important to stay in school because you can’t be successful in life without a good education”. He cherished
education and family time. Kareem had a positive attitude towards life and always took away the good in all situations. He was humble and compassionate; his dedication and commitment made him a reliable friend to many. Kareem’s irreplaceable energy and spirit will forever live on in our hearts. He will be missed dearly by many and we will continue to honor his legacy for years to come.
