Julia E Flamand
September 3, 1937 – December 15, 2020
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Julia E. Flamand. Mom, passed away peacefully on December 15th at the St. Boniface hospital. Mom was born in Pine Creek First Nation on September 3, 1937 and attended the Pine Creek Residential School.
Mom was an active community member and often volunteered for various events. Mom was a member and involved with the Manitoba Metis Women’s local group in the community of Camperville for several years. She helped where she could to support both the communities of Pine Creek and Camperville.
Being very sociable, Mom enjoyed visiting with family and many of her lifelong friends. She attended weekly bingos where she could be heard laughing and joking with her friends. Later, in the personal care home she enjoyed the Karaoke events to fill her love of music. She loved life, family gatherings and beautiful flowers. She will be in our hearts forever.
Mom was predeceased by her husband Georgie (2013) her daughter Sandra (1997) her parents Joseph & Harriet J. Nepinak, sisters Stella, Mary, brother Harvey and baby brother Norman.
Left to mourn her passing are daughters Anita, Josi (Mike) Georgina (Dennis) and son Warren.
Her sisters Louise, Annette, brothers Thomas (Mildred) and Clarence. Grandchildren Derek, Ryan, Melissa, Angie, Joshua, Brandi, Hope, Bruce, Matthew, Caroline, Anthony, Alecia, Celeste, Brent and numerous great grandchildren. She will also be fondly remembered by her numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
A private family/friends viewing will be held at the Korban Funeral Chapel at 907 Main Street on Monday December 21, 2020 at 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
A viewing will also be held at Sneath Strilchuk at Dauphin MB on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. for family/friends who cannot travel to Winnipeg due to the Covid restrictions.
Please note that only 5 people at a time are allowed to pay their respects due to Covid regulations (masks are required).
Special thank you to the Southeast Personal Care Home and staff who took wonderful care of our mother for the past 6 years. And to Crystal Redhead, our Moms dearest friend, thank you for always lovingly supporting our Mom.
A celebration of life and mass will be held at a later date and interment in the parish cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Manitoba.
