NEUMANN, Joyce Margaret (nee MacArthur), Halifax, passed away March 29, 2020 at home
……….
Born in Portage, P.E.I., she was the only daughter of the late Robert H. MacArthur and Regina Mary (Sharbell) of P.E.I.
Educated at Pictou Academy and Mount St. Bernard College in Antigonish, she was employed by the Department of Natural Resources until her retirement in 1994.
She was a member of St. Benedict’s Parish Roman Catholic Church as well as a member of the C.W.L.
Joyce loved flowers, animals and nature and traveled extensively with her best friend and late husband of over 48 years, Rudolf Walter Neumann who passed away on January 16, 2012.
She was the last remaining member of her family as she was predeceased by her parents, step mother, the former Ila Oxley of River Philip, brothers Elmer, Robert(Bud) and James (Jim) MacArthur.
She is survived by sisters-in-law, Sadie MacArthur, Cambridge, Ont., Jean MacArthur, Saltsprings and Kay MacArthur, Stellarton. Special cousin, Colleen Sharbell, Charlottetown, God Children, Matthew Gagne, Halifax and Uve Neumann, Germany, as well as several nieces and nephews in both Canada and Germany. Also her brothers-in-law, Hans and Walter Neumann, Germany and sisters-in-law, Helga, Germany and lise, Greece. As well as many loyal friends. Joyce would like to thank all those loyal friends who supported her after her husband, Rudy’s passing.
Cremation has taken place. Interment for both will be in St. Brigid’s Roman Catholic Cemetery, Foxley River.
