DAKIN, Joyce Marie (nee Stevens) – Passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of family at Sakura House in Woodstock on Friday, January 24, 2020. Joyce was in her 97th year. Beloved wife of the late George Dakin (2011). Loving mother of Janice Packer, Pat (Jim) Hughes, and daughter-in-law Sarah Hughes. Step mother of Carol (Wray) Coulson, Robert (Louise) Dakin and Janice (Frank) Ward. Lovingly remembered by her brother Norman Stevens. Joyce will be missed by her 20 Grandchildren, several Great Grandchildren and many Great, Great Grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews. Joyce is predeceased by her daughter Judy Schnelle, sons Ronald Hughes, Richard Hughes, her son-in-law Brian Master, sister Betty Garner, brothers John Stevens and Robert Stevens. The family would like to thank the staff at both Oxford Gardens and Sakura House for their loving care of mom. Friends and relatives are invited to join the family at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 519-539-0004 on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 from 10am to 11am where the funeral service will take place in the chapel at 11am. If desired, memorial contributions to Diabetes Canada, the Salvation Army or the Canadian Cancer Society and can be arranged through the funeral home.
