Obituary of Joseph Melvin Giles
Passed peacefully away on March 27, 2020, Joseph Melvin Giles, at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Center, Grand Falls-Windsor. He was 78 years of age.
Joe was a loving husband, father and grandfather. A very hard worker who spent most of his career as a Heavy Duty Mechanic at the oil refinery, Come-by-Chance, Hemlo Gold Mines, Harvey and Company and Dept. of Highways from which he retired in 2005. He loved spending his retirement out in boat fishing, salmon fishing on the rivers and spending the summer out in the trailer.
He was predeceased by his parents Walter and Mary Giles; brother Kevin Giles; brother-in-law George Crewe.
He leaves to mourn his wife Betty, daughter Tanya Giles; son Dean Giles; brothers Reginald (Lorraine) Giles, Randy Giles, Roland (Brenda) Giles; sister Phyllis Crewe; sister-in-law Linda Giles; sons-in-laws Darren (Sheena) Hart, Dean Hart; brothers-in-laws Irving (Glenda) Hale, Kerry (Vi) Hale; grandchildren Jamie Forgrave, Cole, Christian, Talliah Giles, Andrew Phillpott, Brandon Hart, Britney Hart; great grandchild Carson Phillpott and many other relatives and friends.
As per his wishes cremation has taken place. Do to the COVID pandemic there will not be any visitation or funeral service at this time.
