Obituary of Joseph Reinhardt
“To love and be loved, is to honor one’s life given.”
Joe did, and was…profoundly!
Joseph (Joe) John Reinhardt, beloved son of the late Tillie and Jack Reinhardt, much-loved cousin, and loving friend to many, died on Monday, December 21, 2020, under the compassionate care of Regina General Hospital’s Ward 6A medical team. For giving your everything to Joe in his final days and hours, know how grateful he was for your comforting presence and exceptional care.
For the empathy, loving care, kindness, and friendships shared with Joe by Parkside Extendicare’s many wonderful staff during his nine-year stay, thank you. Yours is a difficult and, at times, perilous calling, and Joe was thankful for each of you.
Joe’s years of treasured independence was enabled by his personal allies of determination, patience, perseverance, acceptance, humor, and stubbornness. Those personal allies were bolstered by an army of devoted health care professionals, neighbours, friends and extended family, all of whom greatly enhanced his life. Through your visits, laughter, shared-experiences, encouragement, kindness, and love, Joe’s life was fulfilled in ways he might otherwise not have known. His “brotherhood” with his close Parkside friend, Peter Caleval, was their shared blessing.
How grateful Joe was for all of you who were, throughout his life, “the wind beneath his wings”.
There will be no public viewing or memorial service.
To honor Joe’s life and death, offering a simple act of kindness to another, and respecting Public Health rules, would be your greatest final gifts to him.
Sincere thanks to staff of Speers Funeral Chapel and Riverside Memorial Park, to whom Joe has been entrusted, and where he will be laid to rest.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Joseph
