Obituary of JOSEPHINE LORRAINE DAWYDIUK
JOSEPHINE LORRAINE DAWYDIUK
(NEE LUPKOWSKI)
April 10, 1927 – October 30, 2020
On Friday, Josephine, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away peacefully at the age of 93.
While Mom was born in Winnipeg, MB, she lived her life in Hadashville, MB. She was an active member in her church and community. At the age of 16, Josie started her first bout as a ‘Permit Teacher’ in rural one-room schoolhouses. This started her teaching career. Between semesters, she attained her High School Diploma via correspondence, and boarding school in Teulon, MB. Mom then obtained her Teaching Certificate at ‘Normal School’.
Josie met the love of her life, Joseph Dawydiuk (Joe the Electrician), at a wedding of mutual friends. They married July 3, 1953. They were entrepreneurs in the service station and motel business. They raised four children: Wayne (Bev), Sharon, Marlene, and Linda (Dean). They were blessed with grandchildren; Haylie (Dallas), Reed (Louis), Kane, and bonus grandchildren: Stephanie (Duncan) and Dereck (Heidi). Mom rejoiced with the arrival of her great grandchildren; Cooper, Aurora, Damien, Odette, and bonus great grandchildren: Eliana, Maren and Lowen.
A few years after Dad’s passing, Mom moved to Winnipeg. She resided at Concordia Village, where she enjoyed the company of numerous friends and was well supported by the excellent staff.
The family would like to thank the staff at Seven Oaks Hospital for the care and compassion extended to Mom in her final days.
A private family service was held in Hadashville. Remembrances may be made in the form of donations to the Concordia Foundation.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of JOSEPHINE
