1939-2020
Joseph (Joe) Melanson of Riverview, passed away at his
residence on Monday, July 6, 2020. Born in St. Paul, NB, he
was the son of the Late Alfred and Georgina (Allain)
Melanson. He retired from Corrections Canada as a Warden
from the Yellowknife Correctional Services following a career of over
20 years during which time he received his black belt in karate.
Joseph was a proud serving member of the Second Battalion of The Black
Watch. He was an avid golfer and member of the Country
Meadows Golf Club. Joe enjoyed spending precious time with
good friends Louis Deveau and Eric Estey.
He will be dearly missed by wife Mary (Peg) Melanson,
daughter Michele Melanson, sisters Norma Melanson, Patricia Pelletier,
Lise (Paul) Theriault; brother Rheal (Yvonne) Melanson; He held a
special place in his heart for his niece Carole and her husband
Gilles; granddaughters Jamie, Toni, Sydney, great-grandchildren Tynan,
Harlan, Ashton, and Oaklyn. Aside from his parents, he was
predeceased by sisters Charlene and Phyllis and a brother
Guy.
Honoring Joe’s wishes, there will be no visitation
or service. His arrangements have been entrusted with
Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine
Road, Riverview, (869-2007). Donations made to The Heart and
Stroke or NB Lung would be greatly appreciated by his
