Joseph Terpstra
Formerly of Arthur passed away peacefully at the Hanover and District Hospital on Monday, August 24, 2020 in his 85th year. Beloved husband of Johanna (Kruis) for 59 years. Dear father of Agnes and Nick Ammerlaan of Kenilworth, Pete and Joanne Terpstra of Chatsworth, John and Judy Terpstra of Casterville, Annette and Lindsay Shaw of North Bay, Harry and Heather Terpstra of Dundalk, Ed and Janette Terpstra of Dundalk, Maryanne and Don Graham of Chatsworth, Gerald and Deb Terpstra of Mountain House Ark. U.S.A., Lewis and Lori Terpstra of Ariss, Laureen and Brian Wollis of Peace River, Alberta, the late Janice Terpstra (1977) , Alvin and Vicki Terpstra of Durham, Petrina and Jeff Beath of North Bay and Ben and Jessica Terpstra of Arthur. Fondly remembered by his 57 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren. Brother of Wiebe and Margaret Terpstra of Guelph, Jetty Kuipers, Nellie and Juluis Monkel, and Mia Wahle all of the Netherlands. Brother-in-law of Wietske Terpstra, Arnold Op de Weegh and Janke Terpstra.Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by his daughter-in-law Janette (2008), three brothers Eelke, Ferdie and Piet, sister Tinie and brothers-in-law Leo Kuipers and Henk Wahle.
To honour Joseph’s wishes cremation has taken place.
A private family Memorial Mass will be celebrated in St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, Arthur followed by interment in St. John’s Cemetery, Arthur.
