Joseph [John] Collin passed away in Abbotsford Regional Hospital, with family by his side on December 31, 2019, at the age of 86.
He was born to the late Xavier and Regina Collin in 1933 in Quebec, where he grew up and was raised. He is survived by 1 brother, Jean Marie, 3 sisters Gabby/Jeanette/Agathe and predeceased by his brothers Julian and Clement.
John moved out west to BC in 1952 and met and married the love of his life, Jeanne Lemire on January 25, 1958. He quickly found a new family in the Lemire clan. He loved his mother-in-law [Rosa] and all of Jeanne’s sisters, [Eva/Yvonne/Doris/Irene/Rosie and Berthe].
John and Jeanne were blessed with four children Claudette [Larry], Jeannine [Don], Roxanne [Ron] and Rick [Sue]. He also leaves a legacy of seven grandchildren [Pam/Dean/Colin/Dayna/Kyle/Brandon and Ryan] and thirteen great grandchildren. All of whom love and will miss him dearly.
With heavy hearts we say good-bye to our Dad’s loving spirit and kind heart and never ending sense of humor. He loved his sports and in his younger days he was a Hockey Referee and an avid Slo-pitch Player. In his later years you would find him playing Horseshoes and Curling. He was a hardworking man learning many skills along the way. He worked in a Plywood Mill, as a Drywaller and a Carpenter. The man could fix, build or rig almost anything and he was always there to help anyone who needed it. He continued to work as a handyman in the Langley Grove Mobile Home Park; well into his eighties…he just loved to keep busy.
A celebration of life Open House will be held on January 25, 2020 and we encourage friends and family to stop by anytime between 12 and 3 pm.
