Obituary of Jörg Reinhard Schulz
1934 – 2020
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jörg Reinhard Schulz. George passed away peacefully with family by his side on November 24, 2020.
George was born on June 11, 1934 to Anna & Reinhard Schulz in Halle, Germany. In 1956 to 1965, George joined the Luftwaffe in Germany. In May 1965, George and Erika immigrated to Canada with two children, sailing out of Liverpool, England towards Montreal, Quebec. George was self-employed, having a camera repair business in Cranbrook.
He retired in 2000 when digital photography really took off around the world, giving George and his wife Erika time to travel and enjoy life to its fullest. Their garden got more attention and George’s model train set was in full swing again!
George was a strong family man, this past summer cherished time together was spent, we were grateful for every additional day. We all love you very much and you remain forever in our hearts!!! Rest in Peace!
George is survived by his loving wife Erika of 61 years, his children Iris (John), Frank (Shenoon), Nancy (Bruce), his grandchildren Rod (Jacki), Doug (Kyle), Sham, Nadira (Chris), and his brothers Frank (Heidi), Gerd.
He was predeceased by his parents and sister Irene.
We all miss you dearly.
A big thank you to all the nurses and staff on the 3rd floor at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital.
