Jonathan W. “Jon”‘s Obituary
RIVERTON – Jonathan Wilfred “Jon” Garrison, 69, Riverton, formerly of Halifax, passed away October 29, 2020 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow with his eldest brother by his side.
Born in Halifax, he was a son of Dorothy Marie (Byrne) Garrison, Halifax and the late Ronald Everett Garrison. Jon was a member of St. Joseph’s Parish. He attended Halifax Vocational School graduating with an Electricians certificate. Jon had several jobs over the years, including Canada Post and Sales Manager with Dartmouth Hyundai until he was a victim of a random assault that rendered him disabled due to a serious head injury.
Surviving besides his mother, are sister, Dorothy-Ann Allan (Stephen); brothers, Gordon (Yvette Blanchard) and Alan (Nancy Perry); five nieces and nephews; four great-nieces and nephews.
Besides his father, he was predeceased by grandparents Wilfred and Dorothy Garrison, Alexander and Bertha Byrne.
Jon’s family wish to thank the staff of the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow and Riverview Home, Stellarton for their excellent care he received and his many friends.
A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at 11 am in Saint Mother Teresa of Kolkata Roman Catholic Church, Halifax.
