Obituary of John William Neuman
At the age of 72, after a long battle with Huntington disease, it is with great sadness that the family of John William Neuman announces his peaceful and sudden passing at Henley Place Long Term Care on December 25, 2020.
John will be lovingly remembered by Marj, his wife of forty years, his daughter Danielle (Zach Groulx), and his son Andrew. He will also be lovingly remembered by his parents Alma and Henry (predeceased) Neuman, his sister Connie (Sam Baker), his predeceased brother Peter (Cheryl McKenna), his mother-in-law Valerie Nettleton (George predeceased), his sister-in-law Kathy Chimienti (Joe), his many nieces and nephews and his numerous close friends.
John lived a full life surrounded by family and friends doing the things he loved including traveling the world, playing sports, spending time with his dog Lily, and playing board games and cards. He had an exciting professional career as a Civil Engineer working overseas in Lesotho, Indonesia, Nigeria, Turkey, and Tanzania.
Due to COVID pandemic restrictions, a gathering of family and friends to celebrate John’s life will be announced at a later date. By request, John Neuman wishes that expressions of sympathy be donations to the Huntington Society of Canada.
Special thanks to the staff at Henley Place who cared for John over the past two years, and to the personal support workers who with their help made it possible to keep John at home for many years.
May he rest in peace.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of John

Death notice for the town of: London, Province: Ontario
My deepest condolences to Marj and family. My Dad Allan Johnston had shared room with John at Henley LTC. and we found out fast how much John loved chocolate, and fun to see the pleasure on his face when he had a piece. Marj I am so happy I got to see you Christmas Day before John passed. Thinking of you.
Condolences to Connie and all the family. Another loss to a childhood friend of Maynooth who could always be found at the rink shack. May the bonds of love that joined your hearts together keep you and Johnnie close together.
