Obituary of John Alexander Murdoch
John Alexander Campbell Murdoch – It is with great sadness that John’s family announce his passing peacefully at home in Kingston, Ontario on 5th May 2020. Devoted husband to Nicola, adored father of Ross, Caroline and Fergus, son of Ian and Mary, brother of Rob and the late Jamie and friend to many.
The family would like to thank Dr. Chris Booth and all the staff at the Cancer Centre of Southeastern Ontario for their support.
John was an enthusiastic sailor, cyclist and skier, as well as a highly regarded anesthesiologist.
During his illness, John continued his love of human connection and recently shared a song by another John, John Prine:
You know that old trees just grow stronger
And old rivers grow wilder every day
Old people just grow lonesome
Waiting for someone to say, “Hello in there, hello”
So if you’re walking down the street sometime
And spot some hollow ancient eyes
Please don’t just pass ’em by and stare
As if you didn’t care, say, “Hello in there, hello”
Donations can be made in memory of John to the Cancer Centre of Southeastern Ontario or the Send It Foundation.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of John
