Memorial Donation
John MacMillan, 82, of Port Hawkesbury, passed away at Strait Richmond hospital on September 29, 2020.
He was the son of Donald Bill and Sarah Ann MacMillan. John grew up in St Ninian’s and then moved to Toronto and then Vancouver for work. He was then employed at Stora as a Stevedore until his retirement.
John is survived by his life partner, Beverly MacQuarrie; son, Greg MacQuarrie; grandson, Callum; daughter-in-law, Leilani Gate MacQuarrie; brother, Malcom (Marilyn); sisters-in-law, Jen MacMillan, Sheilia MacMillan and brother in law George Faulkner.
John was predeceased by sisters, Christina Bond and Jean Faulkner; brothers, Neil and Angus MacMillan; step brothers John Alec, Hughie, Andrew and Alexander; step sisters, Annie Farrel, MaryAnne, Florence and nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at Green’s Funeral Home, 507 Bernard Street Port Hawkesbury on Wednesday October 7th from 2:00pm-4:00pm and 6:00-7:00pm. Non-medical masks/face coverings, as well as physical distancing will be required. Burial in Port Hood, as per John’s final wishes to be determined at a later date.
Donations in memory of John may be made to Diabetes Canada. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Green’s Funeral Home, 507 Bernard Street, Port Hawkesbury.
