John (Jack)’s Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of the late John (Jack) Callahan announce his passing at the Western Palliative Care Unit on Sunday, June 7, 2020 at the age of 79 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, his wife Patricia Callahan (Duffy) of 55 years; his children: Thomas (Tim), Richard (Lisa), and Mark (Michelle); his grandchildren: Jennifer (Joanne), Meagan, Kirsten, Aaron, Bruno (Ava), Ty, Jamal, and Danielle; his great grandchildren: Hannah, Sophie, Paige, Sierra, Natalie, and Nathan; his great great grandchild Nevaeh; his siblings: Gervase, Howard, Jeff (Ina), Joe, and Pamela; and a huge number of brother/sisters in law, nieces, nephews, huge number of family and friends of Corner Brook, Curling, and Fox Island River. Jack was also a long-time member of the Knights of Columbus. Jack was predeceased by his parents: John & Agnes Callahan; and his sister Mary Mitchell Callahan. A Huge thank you to Dr. Fudge, Jenny and the staff of the Western Memorial Regional Hospital Dialysis Department for his care since 2011, Dr. Mackenzie, Dr. Dunn and staff of 3B at the WMRH while he was there, and during his last days, thank you to the palliative care unit at the new long term care building. Due to the current Covid-19 restrictions, a visitation and funeral service will take place at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
