La célébration de
John J. Morrison
3 décembre 1930 –
26 novembre 2020
Succumbed suddenly to illness at St. Michael’s hospital on November 26th, 2020. He was 89 years old.
His long-time partner, Elizabeth (Betty) Crammond and his surviving siblings Jim, Don and Pat (McLaughlin), Betty’s children Ruth (Brad James) and David (Gillian) will miss him dearly. He will be remembered as a kind, friendly soul, as well as a great sportsman and storyteller.
John spent his early childhood in Goderich, Ontario, but most of his long life in Toronto. He loved to tell stories about growing up in Toronto’s west end and roaming the streets and streetcars with his brothers and friends, particularly to his grandchildren Sarah, Libby, Ted and A.J.. As a young man, John made a career as an X-Ray technician and lived in the Roncesvalles neighbourhood, golfing on the weekends and occasionally hustling pool at night.
After spending half his life as a dedicated bachelor, he met the love of his life, Betty, and they enjoyed a fantastic life of golf (as longtime members at North Halton), travel, friends and family.
His recent illness was challenging for John but he was always quick with a smile and a story and was fortunate to have many friends and family close by.
There will be no funeral service, as was John’s wish. Memorial donations may be made in his name to United Way Greater Toronto.
