Died peacefully on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at the Collingwood General & Marine Hospital at the age of 84. John of Wasaga Beach, formerly of Montreal, beloved husband of Barbara (née Rodgers) for over 61 years. Loving father of Jennifer, Joanne, Tom (Louisa) and Michael. Cherished grandfather of Matthew, Melissa, Samantha, Jonathan, Cody and great grandfather of Charlotte, Grace and Eleanor. Caring brother of Mary MacNown. He will also be missed by his nieces Anthea and Jeannie. Predeceased by his parents Percival and Elizabeth Hoy. John loved spending his free time outdoors going for long walk with his fury best friend Jake. He also loved playing his favorite sports golf and tennis. He was loved and will be missed by his many family and friends. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Carruthers & Davidson Funeral Home – Wasaga Beach Chapel, 509 River Road West. In lieu of flowers, a donation to Alzheimer’s foundation or the Lewy Body Dementia Association would be appreciated by his family
