John Edward MacArthur Friday February 14th 2020

John Edward MacArthur, born August 17, 1951, passed peacefully at the Stratford Rotary Hospice on February 14, 2020 after a six month battle with cancer.
John was an accomplished musician/singer, business man and guitar teacher. He will be dearly missed by his loving wife Julie, his children Meagan, Matthew, Michael and Justin and his step children Sarah, Christopher, Adam and Aaron McGill. He was known as “Papa” to his grandchildren Savannah, Caleb, Apple, Grayson, Alaya, Sonja and Ethan.
Loving son of Dave MacArthur, brother to June and brother-in-law to Bud Dixon. John is predeceased by his brother Jeff and mother Edna. He will be missed by his dear friends Bill and Jennifer Parkinson.
John was a patient, generous and loving man. Our lives have been enriched by the love he shared and the “Desiderata” philosophy in which he lived.
Out of respect for John’s wishes, there shall be no formal public visitation or service. Cremation has taken place and a private celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society in his honour would be appreciated and may be made directly at www.cancer.ca or by visiting the office at 536 Huron St, Stratford or through Rutherford Cremation & Funeral Services at 804 Ontario Street, Stratford. www.jarfh.com. 519-271-5062.
