John Lind, of Rossland, BC passed away peacefully in his sleep on July 15, 2020.
John was very well known as an artist and having a love for wildlife and the great outdoors. That love for Kootenay wildlife and scenery continuously inspired John in his paintings and carvings. John was a proud member of the West Kootenay Big Game & Trophy Association for decades and enjoyed creating carvings for the club. He valued the friendships he made within that club and always had time to share a beer and a story about his glory days hunting and fishing throughout the area.
John was born to Albert and Violet Lind of Nanton, Alberta. He spent his childhood in the outdoors and on the farm with his siblings Jerry, Lloyd, Kenny, Calvin, Judy, Bonnie and Midge. John later moved to Creston where he met his devoted wife Sandra. The two later moved to Beaver Valley where they started to plant their roots and create a family. John and Sandra had two children, Shana and Johnny whom he loved dearly. John ensured his children had an active and adventurous childhood. The family created many memories camping, hunting, fishing and spending time with all of their extended family. John and Sandra’s children later married and gifted him his beloved grandchildren Hannah (Pumpkin), Levi (My Boy), Kaelin (Crockett) and Korbin (Booner). John also had many treasured cousins, nieces and nephews.
John was not one to be idle, as he was always “on-the-go” either creating a new art project, keeping his neighbors’ yards in pristine condition or visiting his friends and family. He will be greatly missed every day by all those who were lucky enough to know “The Great Mountain Man” John C. Lind.
You are invited to leave a personal message of condolence.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of John Charles Lind July 15th 2020..
