1933-2020
Briggs, John Carmel, 87, Bible Hill, passed away Thursday,
November 12, 2020 in Vimy Court, Bible Hill. Born in Bayfield, NB, he
was the son of the late William and Neita (Wall) Briggs. Carmel worked
for most of his life as a mechanic with his colleague Jerry Kamphuis.
He was an avid fisherman, hunter and loved four-wheeling, snowmobiling
and motorcycles.
He is survived by sons, William “Bill”
(Nancy Atkinson), Truro, Jim (Gail Hughes), Lower Harmony;
grandchildren, Billy, Sherry, Crystal; great-grandchildren, Tyler,
Lucas, Brandon, Kenzie, Alex; brother Walter Briggs.
He was predeceased by his wife Marceline Marie Briggs;
grandson, Kevin; brother, Raymond; sister, Carol.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Mattatall~Varner
Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro. No visitation by family request.
A private family graveside service will take place at a later date in
the Harmony Cemetery, Harmony. Donations in memory may be made to the
Colchester SPCA or to the IWK Hospital for Sick Children. Private
