John Robert (Bob) Bernard of Pincher Creek, beloved husband of the late Louise Bernard, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2020 at the age of 89 years.
Bob is survived by his sons David (Laura) Bernard of Lexington, Kentucky, USA and Paul (Kristen) Bernard of Aliso Viejo, California, USA, grandchildren Hannah, Caroline, John, Tyler and Sydney and brother Maurice Bernard of Edmonton, AB. as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families. Besides his loving wife Louise, Bob was predeceased by his parents Auguste Charles Joseph and Marie Bernard (nee Sellier), sister Marie Willette, and brothers Auguste, Pierre, Jacques and George Bernard.
Bob was born in Macklin, SK. and spent most of his youth on the family farm in Provost, AB. Bob was a chartered accountant and worked overseas in Tanzania, Nigeria, Liberia, Bangladesh, Lesotho, English Guyana, Mozambique. He loved his wife and sons, was an avid baseball fan, and had a joy for exploring and staying active. He will be missed.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday February 8, 2020 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 958 Christie Ave, Pincher Creek, AB with Reverend Myles Gaffney officiating, Inurnment will follow at Fairview Cemetery beside his wife Louise.
