Obituary
John Benyk of Horyn, MB passed away on Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at the age of 94 years.
John was born in the Million district to Nick and Mary Benyk (nee Solomon), the 5th of 9 children, growing up with 4 brothers and 4 sisters.
John worked as a diamond driller for Midwest drilling for many years. He raised mink in Rorketon for many years and worked with farmers in the area assisting with harvest.
John was an avid trapper and spent many hours over the years hunting and fishing. John was referred to as “The Colonel” as he always knew the best hunting locations and “The Legend” by Don Stokotelny for his fishing exploits. John was a member of the Westlake Wildlife Association.
John will be missed by his nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members.
