Porteous; “Jack” John Arthur
Surrounded by family at Grey Bruce Health Services, Markdale on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 of Markdale in his 95th year. Predeceased by his beloved wife Janet (1998). Jack was born in Osprey Township on October 4 1926. He was the best story teller with his excellent memory and ability to make the circumstances alive, along with his witty sense of humour. Farming was in his blood and he and Janet raised their family at Rock Mills. He was always proud of his Oliver 88. For the last thirty years he gardened at his home in Markdale right up to this past summer. It was his enjoyment to supply his many friends with his vegetables.
The family will receive friends at Fawcett Funeral Cremation Reception (1 Highland Drive, Flesherton) on Sunday, November 8, 2020 from 2-4pm. Family members unable to attend due to COVID-19 will be available via virtual communication. Funeral service from the chapel on Monday, November 9, 2020 at 1pm. Should anyone wish, memorial donations to Gentle Shepherd Community Church would be greatly appreciated.
