Obituary
John Alexander (Sandy) Gibson, at the age of 74 years, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side, after a courageous battle with cancer. Loving husband and best friend of Myrna (Nuhn), beloved Dad to Julie (Keith) Birnie of Copper Cliff and Jaime of Gorrie. Brother of Gwynne Brown; son-in-law of Edna Nuhn; brother-in-law of Ann (Dale) Rodgers, Leonard (Anne) Nuhn; Donna Gibson. Predeceased by his parents Jack and Jean Gibson of Wroxeter, father-in-law Wilmer Nuhn, brother Donald, brothers-in-law Jack Brown and Bill Nuhn. Remembered as a special “Poppa” to many. In keeping with Sandy’s wishes, a private family graveside service will be held with Rev. Joanne Todd officiating. A celebration of Sandy’s life may be held at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Wingham and District Hospital Foundation for the Chemotherapy Unit or St. Paul’s Trinity Anglican Church in Wingham would be appreciated by the family.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks for the exceptional and loving in-home care provided by the dedicated team from Care Partners, especially Kathy Fitch and Melissa Smith.
