PETERS, Johannes (John) Theodorus – of Riverdale Terrace formerly of Martintown, well known farmer, at the Janet MacDonell Pavilion on Tuesday, February 4, 2020. Born on November 10, 1922 in Wanroy, Netherlands to Johannes H. Peters and Theodora Sluis, eldest of 12. He leaves to mourn his wife of 69 years, Elisabeth Van Alphen, his children John W. (Agathe), Garry (Marilyn), Theodore (Jayne), Mary Ann (Rick Johnston), and Robert (Nancy). Loving Opa of Clayton, Garry Jr., Katherine, Patrick, Curtis, Daniel, Sherilyn, Brianne, John M., Jean-Philip, Alexandra, and Josh. Super-Opa of 16. Also, one sister in Canada, Christina Jans, and one in Austria, Thea, 2 brothers, Hen and Toon, and 3 sisters Greet, Nelly, and Truus in Nederland. Predeceased by his parents, one brother Theo, and 3 sisters Bertha, An, and Miet, 2 sons Johannes G.A. (at birth) and Finley (1993). Friends and family may visit at Wilson Funeral Home, 822 Pitt Street, Cornwall, Ont. on Thursday February 6, 2020 from 2p.m. to 4p.m. and 7p.m. to 9p.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday February 7, 2020 at St. William’s Parish in Martintown, Ontario at 11a.m. Lunch to follow at the Martintown Community Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to C.H.E.O. or the charity of your choice.
