Obituary of Joe Weichelt
It is with great sadness that the family of Klaus Dieter Weichelt (aka Joe) announces his passing at the age of 69 on Tuesday, April 14, 2020, at Parkwood Hospital after a courageous and lengthy battle with prostate cancer.
Proud retired Sergeant of the Ontario Provincial Police, Joe was very compassionate, generous and humorous. Joe was a prankster and loved to laugh and make everyone around him laugh even in his final days. He loved his family fiercely and was a kind and generous friend. His smile and laugh would light up a room. Joe will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him, yet will be felt and not forgotten for years to come.
Joe is survived by his daughters Lori Reif (Dave), Lisa Pearson (Andrew), his mother Irene Van de Kemp, his sisters Rosi DiLeo (Danny), Diana Boyes, Erana McCombs (Mark), Kim Van de Kemp, sister-in-law Pam Clements (Bob), Grandchildren (Natasha, Riley, Sydney, Cameron, Hayden, Mitchell, Jordan and Shelby), 2 great grandchildren (Alyssa and Scarlett) and many nieces and nephews whom he adored. Predeceased by the love of his life and wife Robin Weichelt, his father Gunther Weichelt, his stepfather Tony Van de Kemp, his grandson Christian Reif, and nephew Dean DiLeo.
We graciously thank Dr. Kim, and the palliative staff at Parkwood Hospital for the care provided. In addition, we are so grateful for the compassion and arrangements from the staff at London Cremation Services.
Donations to Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated and can be made through London Cremation Services (519) 672-0459 or online at www.londoncremation.com.
A celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
