Obituary of Joanne Pearce (nee Gibson)
PEARCE, Joanne (née Gibson), of St. Thomas, passed away at the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Sunday, September 27, 2020, in her 71st year. Beloved wife of P. James “Jim” Pearce. Dearly loved mother of Jeff Pearce (Colleen), and Melissa Kneeshaw (Dan). Cherished grandmother of Arlen and Jamie Kneeshaw, and Abby and Alex Pearce. Dear sister of Steven G. Gibson (Janet). Also fondly remembered by several relatives in the surrounding and Niagara Falls areas. Born in St. Thomas, ON , November 20, 1949, she was the daughter of the late William “Bill” and Josephine “Jo” (née Mann) Gibson. Joanne was a retired employee of the Central Elgin Planning Board. By invitation only, a private visitation and private funeral service (a mask or face covering is required) will be held at the SIFTON FUNERAL HOME, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas (519-631-1160). Cremation to follow. Private columbarium inurnment at Elmdale Memorial Park will take place at a later date. If so desired, memorial donations to the Arthritis Society will be appreciated.
Please note: As per the directive of the Bereavement Authority of Ontario (BAO), thebao.ca/registrars-directive-province-wide-cemetery-gathering-limits/, attendance at indoor funeral services and visitations and outdoor funeral services and visitations including graveside services will be restricted.
