Obituary
Jo passed away peacefully in her sleep in the Claresholm General Hospital at the age of 93. She is survived by her husband Oliver C Seward and her three children: Amy-Irene, Mike and Pete. She is also survived by her brother F John Stewart of Victoria, BC and her sisters Ardis (Krish) Kamra of Edmonton, Alberta and Marilyn (Charlie) Schroder of St Albert, Alberta.
Jo was born in 1927 to Fred and Irene Stewart in Peterborough, Ontario. In 1928 the family moved back to Alberta residing in Calgary, Edmonton, Camrose, Magrath and back to Camrose. Jo attended the University of Alberta where she met Oliver Seward who was also attending the U of A. On June 30, 1951, Jo and Oliver were married in Camrose. Jo taught elementary and junior high school in Claresholm. She was an active member of Eastern Star.
Jo was a very creative person. She enjoyed playing the piano, singing, making quilts, sewing, crafting, knitting, crossword puzzles, hosting large tea parties, attending the opera, camping and backpacking in the mountains, and was always available to people who needed her. In addition, she and her family travelled the world. She and Oliver (and sometimes their children) travelled to more than 60 countries. She was always up to a challenge.
A private family service was held on Wednesday, December 16, 2020. It is hoped that a Celebration of Life may be held when circumstances permit.
