Obituary of Joan Gertrude Rhind
RHIND, Joan Gertrude
On February 8, 2020, Joan Gertrude Rhind, in her 100th year, passed away at Pinecrest Home, Kenora. A resident of Kingston, Ontario for many years, Joan had recently moved to Kenora to be closer to her sons and their families.
Predeceased by husband David, and brother George, Joan is survived by her three sons Peter (Susan), Dave (Elizabeth) and Tom (Ann), as well as sister Eileen and nieces and nephews. Also mourning her loss are granddaughters Stacey (Darren), and Jennifer, grandsons Sean (Brie), Christopher and Geoffrey, and great grandchildren Julian, Tegen, Emma, Kamryn, Kaine and Remington.
A Celebration of Joan’s life will be held at James Reid Funeral Home, Kingston on February 19, 2020 at 1:00pm. Friends are invited to visit the family at the funeral home from 12:00pm until the time of the service. Interment to follow at Cataraqui Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Children’s Wish Foundation, a public library or a favourite charity.
At this time, Joan’s family would like to thank all of the Unit 3 staff at Pinecrest Home for their care and attention to Joan during her stay. They would also like to thank Brown’s Funeral Home, Kenora, for their kindness, and support with organizing Joan’s return to Kingston.
