It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Joan Bernice Winsor on December 5th, 2020 at St. Clare’s Hospital. Beloved mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, great great-grandmother and sister. Predeceased by loving husband Angus; parents Cleopatra and Garfield; brothers: George, Bill and Stan; sister Louise; and grandsons Matthew and Nicholas. Left with beautiful and cherished memories, her children: Betty, Paul (Cathy) and Donna (Gerry); grandchildren: Dawn, Jacob, Christopher (Shauna), Jonathan (Kayla) and Katie (Adam); great-grandchildren: Rachel, Drake, Rebekka, Christopher, Olive, Martin, Benjamin, Theo and Chase; great-great granddaughter Brielle; sisters: Rose (Peter), Jenny (Tom), Lois (Bruce), Lorraine (Wayne), Alice (Al) and Roslyn (Ron); and brother James. Joan Leaves behind a number of nieces, nephews, friends of the deaf community and friends and staff at both Cambridge Estates and St. Patrick’s Mercy Home. The family would like to thank the staff of St. Clare’s ICU, especially Dr. Bandrauk and nurse Jessica Norris. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road on Tuesday, December 8th, 2020 from 2 p.m – 4 p.m and 7 p.m – 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held in Caul’s Chapel on Wednesday, December 9th, 2020 at 11 a.m, with interment to follow in the Salvation Army Cemetery, Blackmarsh Road. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
