Joan’s Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing on Tuesday, March 24, 2020, of a loving Mom, grandmother, sister, special aunt and friend, Joan Eleanor Tobin, of Gaskiers, St. Mary’s Bay, aged 70 years. Predeceased by parents Walter & Laura Tobin, special grandson Walter Halleran, brother Bob Tobin, nephew A.J., sisters-in-law Angela and Bridget and all deceased members of the Tobin and the Critch families. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories daughter Joanne (Paul), special grandson Jesse; brothers and sisters: Ferg (Uriel), Nick (Rosemary), Walter (Lorraine), Jerry (Gert), Ruth (Willie), Helen (Adrian – deceased), Les (Jessie), Jenny (Pat) and Bruce (Noelle) and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends, especially Laura and Barb. Special thanks to Gloria White and “Best of Care”, Paul & Elaine Neville and former staff of Neville’s Personal Care Home and to Mike & Carolann Lewis and staff of Lewis’ PCH for the exceptional care of Joan over the past 6 years. Joan loved the family gatherings at the old family homestead, playing cards, especially Crazy 8’s, Bingo scratch tickets, music and laughing – her laughter we will always remember. Cremation has taken place. Due to precautions imposed resulting from the coronavirus pandemic, visitation and Mass of Christian Burial will be held at a later time.
“Joan will live on in our lives forever.”
