Joan Diane McDougall

Obituary
MCDOUGALL, Joan (nee Paun)
May 5, 1943-August 20, 2020
Passed away peacefully on August 20, 2020 after a courageous battle with cancer at Hospice of Windsor. Predeceased by her parents George and Anna Paun. Beloved wife and best friend of Donald McDougall. Loving mother of Joe McDougall (Marlette), Laura Copat (Mike) and Sue Beattie (Scot). Cherished grandmother of Keith and Kate McDougall, Austin, Lynnsey and Andrew (1997) Copat, Emily and Hannah Robinson and Ryan Edwards. Dear sister of Bill Paun (Hazel), Connie Charette (Frank), Clifford Paun and the late Dan Paun (2012), and Evelyn Benson (1995). A special thank you to the staff and volunteers at Hospice of Windsor-Es County, and the team at Care Partners for your exceptional care, love and support. Joan lived life to the fullest and her greatest joy was her grandchildren. She made fond memories teaching them how to sew and cook and listening to them play music for her. She grew up not knowing how to swim and was determined to not have her grandchildren not learn, so she bought them a pool and made it her mission to teach them how to swim when they were younger. She was a bright light in this world and will be dearly missed by everyone she knew. Visiting at WINDSOR CHAPEL, 11677 Tecumseh Road East, 519-253-7234 on Monday, August 24, 2020 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. If you wish to attend, please call the funeral home to reserve a spot. Cremation to follow. PLEASE NOTE: Masks must be worn at all times in the funeral home. If you desire, donations in Joan’s memory can be made to Hospice of Windsor Es County.
