BAKER, Joan Bernice –
Peacefully entered into rest on Saturday, February 29th, 2020 at the Belleville General Hospital. Joan Baker of the Richmond Retirement Home, formerly of Roslin, died at the age of 87. She was the daughter of the late Stanley & Nina MacKay (nee Saul) and beloved wife for 64 years of J. Royden Baker. Joan was the loving mother of Beth Baker of Woodstock, Shelley Upton (Ken) of Kitchener, and Kirk (Louise) of Roslin. She was the dearest grandmother of Laura Gawne, Jordan Upton, Sara Forder and Nathan Baker and to her 4 great grandchildren. Joan is survived by her sisters Helen Reid of Woodstock, Mary Carpenter of Rocky Mountain House, Alberta, Elizabeth MacKay of Ingersol and her brother Murray MacKay of Embro. She is predeceased by her sisters Velma Watt, Ena Armes and her brothers Donald MacKay and Jim MacKay. Joan will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Baker is resting at the John R. Bush Funeral Home, 80 Highland Avenue, Belleville (613-968-5588) for visitation on Thursday, March 5th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service in the Chapel on Friday, March 6th, 2020 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Margaret Goodwin officiating. Cremation with inurnment in the spring at Victoria Cemetery, Plainfield. If desired, donations to the Parkinson Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
