Obituary
PALANIUK, Jo Adeline (nee Weber/Volk)
Jo was born in Scott, SK on March 8, 1935 to parents Joseph and Odelia “Tillie” (nee Philips) Weber and passed away on Friday, July 17, 2020. Jo was very proud of her German/Russian heritage. She very recently sang several verses of a German song she had learned as a child. Jo was part of a large hard working rural family growing up near Revenue, SK during and after the Great Depression. Jo enjoyed telling stories of farm life, including riding in a caboose or open cutter to school or church with a hot rock by her feet, skating on the pond, and Christmas concerts. Of course, there was the hard work of the farm, as well as helping her mom cook for her large family, and the threshing crews that would go there every harvest. Jo spent her working career in health care. In later years, Jo and Cliff enjoyed going to garage sales, auction sales, gardening and spending time with family and friends. Music was always a large part of her life. She loved to play the accordion, the organ and guitar, especially when others of her musical family would join her. Jo loved her two boys Daymond and Theran (Sheila), grandchildren Lauren (Braden), Kyle (Patsy), Danny, as well as her great-grandchildren Blake, Maddux, Kellen and Luciana. She is also survived by her siblings Vince (Ida) Weber, Martha Kerr, Arnold (Eleanor) Weber, Millie (Ron) Samol, Lillian Leeson, and Louise (Ray) Saulnier. Jo was predeceased by her husband Clifford Palaniuk, her son’s father Len Volk, parents Joseph and Odelia “Tillie”, grandson Dan Volk, brothers Donald, Dave (Jeannette), Eugene, Ted (Stella) Weber, and sisters Emma (Cliff) Bulmer, and Loretta.
