Obituary of Jimmy Soucy
With heavy hearts, the family of James “Jimmy” J. Soucy announce his passing on Thursday, October 1, 2020 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born March 26, 1944 in Saint John, NB he was a son of the late Azilda (Nadeau) and Dennis Soucy.
Jimmy was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 502. He enjoyed going to BINGO with his wife.
Jimmy is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Doris (Abric) Soucy; goddaughter, Nicole Munn; sisters: Germaine McKinney (Robert), Marie Bell, and Shirley Stow (Edward); as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his twin brother, Jackie; sister, Terry Berkotec; and brother, Freddy.
Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Monday, October 5, 2020 from 2 to 4 pm. Guests are asked to enter the funeral home using the courtyard entrance, where staff will greet and assist you with COVID-19 protocol. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at 10 am from the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception with social distancing measures in place. Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
