PILLAINAYAGAM, Jeyaranee Hedweige born May 17, 1928 in Jaffna, Sri Lanka, and passed away on September 21, 2020 in Vancouver, Canada. Her parents, Joseph Cyril and Falicitus, lived in Malaysia and Sri Lanka. She had three sisters and three brothers, all predeceased. She was married for 46 years to Aloysius Pillainayagam, who passed away in 2005. She is survived by daughters Moira and Helen, and son Jude; Sons-in-law Thejoe and Thayakaanthan; daughter-in-law Sheron; and grandchildren Maichael, Stephenie, Brenddan, Harresh, and Jeanna.
After successfully raising her family of three children in Sri Lanka, Vancouver was her home for the past 12 years. She was a strong believer that education is the path to advancement and instilled that value within her children and friends. She was a devoted Catholic and parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua, Marpole. Jeyaranee was kind-hearted, soft spoken, spiritual, and an ardent devotee of Mother Mary. She will be missed by friends and family alike.
A viewing is arranged at the Kearney’s Columbia-Bowell Chapel at 219 6th Street, New Westminster on Tuesday September 29th between 3:00pm to 3:45pm or 4:15pm to 5:00pm.
Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00pm on Wednesday September 30th at St. Anthony of Padua Parish, Marpole, followed by burial at 2:45pm at the Garden of Gethsemani at 15694 32 Ave, Surrey.
Due to current assembly restrictions, attendance to all venues by invitation only.
