Memorial Donation
Jerome Francis O’Quinn, 77, passed away peacefully, 19 March 2020, at Western Memorial Hospital, Corner Brook, NL, with family by his side. Jerome was born 12 December 1942, at his family’s home in South Branch, NL, to Elizabeth (nee Burns) and William O’Quinn.
Jerome was blessed with 35 years marriage to his wife Linda (nee St. Croix deceased 2000) and became a proud father to his best friend Bob (Cindy) and his girls Michelle (Chris) and Viola (Tom). A loving Grandfather to Krista (Justin), Tiffany, Courtney, Kyla and J.J. and Great-Grandfather to Ben and Wyatt. He will be loved and forever missed by his partner Lucy Gillam, who he has created many fond and lasting memories with over the past 6 years.
Jerome was a man of few words (unless he was singing and making up the words and story as he went along) and had a tremendous heart. He loved hunting and fishing and, with a love for the outdoors, got his dream job early in life. He was a respected River Warden for 37 years; remembered by many as a hard worker, an often quite, yet funny, man who was kind and wore his personality on his sleeve. Whether it was during a dart game in the basement, a chat at the kitchen table, or sitting around his fancy lawnmower fire-pit that he relocated nightly, Jerome loved the company of others.
Predeceased by his loving wife Linda of nearly 35 years, his parents, sister Brigitte (Hector), and brother David (Olive). Jerome grew up with a large family of brothers and sisters who are left with many fond memories: Billy (Barb), Madonna (Lou), Alphonsis (Leona), Allen (Dianne), Doreen (Frank), Lawrence (May), Robert (Gertie), Shirley (Kenny), Lawrence (May), Ralph (Alma), Brenda (Ronnie), Steve (Betty), Gary (Irma), and Driller Joe.
Jerome will be missed beyond words by many cousins, nieces and nephews, friends, and especially his Family.
