Jeremy Goldstein 1970 2020

Obituary for
Jeremy Goldstein
Jeremy Marc Goldstein, June 24, 1970 – June 7, 2020. Suddenly and inexplicably from an aortic aneurysm, weeks shy of his fiftieth birthday.
Jeremy had a great sense of humour, a wonderful smile, and a ready laugh. He was vibrant, warm, caring, thoughtful, and considerate.
Born in Toronto, Jeremy moved to Ottawa as a newborn, and grew up here. He attended Fisher Park and Nepean High Schools, and earned his Bachelor’s degree from Glendon College of York University. He was a certified human resource professional, who worked at non-profits, then banking and high technology firms. In recent years, he worked in human resources at Canada Post.
Jeremy was a truly sweet, kind person, instantly loved by all those he met. Friendly with everyone, he chose a handful of close friends for life and a highly valued circle of friends. Although he wasn’t always so good at staying in touch with all the people who mattered to him!
Jeremy stayed in Toronto for 23 years, many of which were living with his late paternal grandfather, Teddy Goldstein. His wife Aliza brought him back to Ottawa.
While he met his wife when he was 16 and quickly decided she was ‘the one’, he insisted at the time that they were too young to date. It took twenty-something years for them to fully reconnect, and they married in 2012. He always joked that “at last” was the theme! It was far too short a time together, for they adored each others’ company.
Jeremy loved sci fi, baseball, dancing, growing his herbs and vegetables on the deck, fashion, coffee, and spending time with Aliza, his friends, and his family.
Left bereft by such a huge loss are his wife, Aliza Rudner; his parents Stephen and Sandra Goldstein whom he loved and respected, his dear brother David Goldstein and sister-in-law Kim Doran; and his beloved nieces, Jacqueline and Hannah; as well as his devastated extended family and many friends.
Jeremy was a good soul, and a mensch in every way.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Multifaith Housing Initiative in Ottawa.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Jeremy
