Jerald Wayne Hoobanoff October 12, 1953 – December 24, 2019
Wayne Hoobanoff passed away in the early hours of December 24, 2019 after a valiant and courageous battle with cancer.
Wayne was born on October 12, 1953 in Nelson, BC. He lived in Nelson most of his life and kept that as his home base when he was on leave from his dream job as sound engineer for Princess Cruise Lines. A job that took him all over the world for 20 years.
Wayne was a devoted brother, uncle and friend to many whose paths he crossed and will be sadly missed.
He was predeceased by his parents Bill and Violet Hoobanoff. He is survived by his sisters Darlene (Thomas) Doerksen and Lori (Charlie) Hebert, four nieces, Shauna, Erin, Melissa and Sarah and one grandnephew, Holden.
We would like to thank his home care, doctors, nurses and staff at Kootenay Lake and Kelowna hospitals for the care and comfort they provided during his stays.
A celebration of life is planned to be held in Nelson, BC in the spring of 2020.
