Obituary of Jean Rapley
RAPLEY: Elizabeth Mary “Jean” (nee Fraser) –
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jean Rapley on Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at the age of 88.
Predeceased by her husband William E. “Bill” Rapley and her parents John and Ruby Fraser, brothers Alan Fraser (June) and Kenneth Fraser (Jean).
Much loved mother to Becky French and Sandie Charbonneau (Bernie).
Proud and loving Gramma to Jason (Kay), Patie and Jaime (Brook) French, Erin (Chris) and Jeff Tewkesbury and Melanie (Joshua) Charbonneau.
A very excited great-grandmother (Granny) to Cooper and Delanie Sykes and Isabel French.
Aunt Jean will be sadly missed by nieces and nephews, Ruth Anne (Jim) Malenda, Margy (Jim) Krumm, Elizabeth (David) King, John (Mary) Fraser and Kenneth (Rebecca) Fraser.
Also missed by friends and extended family.
Jean retired from Union Gas after many years of service. She was a member of a monthly card group who met regularly and brought much laughter and joy! Jean enjoyed reading, golfing and knitting afghans for her family.
Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Sunday, February 16, 2020 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm and 7:00 – 9:00pm.
A Celebration of Jean’s Life will be held at the Funeral Home at 1:00 pm on Monday, February 17, 2020 with Rev. Greg Simpson officiating. Interment to follow at Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham.
Donations made in memory of Jean to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated.
