Obituary for
Jean-Marie Bernard
It is with great sorrow that the family announces the passing of Jean-Marie Bernard after a long and courageous battle. With family by his side, in the comfort of his home, Jean-Marie passed away on Wednesday, December 23, 2020, at the age of 68 years.
Beloved husband of 49 years to Jacqueline Bernard (née St-Denis). Jean-Marie was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He had the biggest heart and was always the first to help someone in need. He was creative, caring and knew how to enjoy the little things in life. Spending time at the cottage with his family and friends was where he was his happiest.
He leaves behind his daughters Julie Malley (Marc) and Jenny Papineau (Chris). Loving Pépère to Anthony Malley, Matthew Malley, Nathan Malley, Eva Papineau and Alexandre Papineau. Dear son of Jeanne D’Arc Dupuis (Gaudet). He leaves behind his siblings Laurier Bernard (Vicky), Carole Doré (Ray), Chantal Labbe (Reg), Guylaine Béchard (Yvon) and his in-laws Jeannine Pertulla (late Ron), Cécile Champion (André), Gerald St-Denis (Réjeanne), Denise Uren (Todd), Robert St-Denis, Michel St-Denis (Lynn), Roland St-Denis (Ingrid) and Daniel St-Denis (Catherine).
He is predeceased by his father Gabriel Bernard, his sons André Bernard and Jamie Bernard, his grandson Joshua Malley, his sister Lise Bradette (Bernard), brother-in-law Alain Bradette and nephews Sylvain Bradette and Joey Bernard.
He is loved and will be missed by all. He will forever be remembered for his beautiful smile, gentle eyes, caring heart, loving embrace, and unconditional love.
Although our hearts are heavy, we will celebrate his life and find comfort that he is in heaven watching over us. Respecting his wishes, cremation will take place. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to LESSARD-STEPHENS Funeral Home. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date. Remembrance donations to the House of Kin would be greatly appreciated.
